Spray Up Molding
Spray-up molding is used to make parts with large dimensions and complex shapes such as bath tubs and boat hulls.
Spray-up uses multi-end roving fed into a 'gun' that is chopped into bundles of predetermined length. The bundles are sprayed into a mold cavity that is gel-coated for a consistent, smooth surface finish. Spray-up is similar to and often combined with the hand lay-up process.
