Silentex® Direct Filling Process

The Silentex® direct filling process was invented by Owens Corning in the early 80s and provides the automotive exhaust market with a unique technology to fill silencer cavities. The patented nozzles enable the texturizing of a tailor-made Advantex® Type 30® roving through a highly-automated and high throughput system.

Through the application of vacuum, an excellent distribution of fibers through the silencer cavity can be achieved in a minimal amount of time.

Compared to traditional sound absorption technologies, the Silentex® direct filling process reduces logistics of raw materials while providing the most efficient and low-density acoustic solution for enhanced performance of the mufflers.
